'The Seedkeepers' (Guardadoras de Las Semillas), a walkabout
They are a feast for all of the senses. A kaleidoscope of colour, shape, sound and form.
These two beautiful carnivalesque creatures are inspired by the stories of those amazing women that braided rice seeds into their hair as a means of survival for themselves and the culture of their homeland. They are inspired by nature, and by all those women in our world that save and protect our seeds in their natural form.
Recycling and re-using objects as much as possible is always part of our creative process, and in the hands of skilled artists, this practice has resulted in two inspiring, thought provoking pieces of art that will dance and parade the streets of many towns, cities, villages and gardens.
