Workshops available to schools during 2020
​Led by Tanya Cusan- Espinosa, born in Colombia, South America, Tanya is a performing artist and creative practitioner with over 25years’ experience of working with children and young people. Her career has encompassed a variety of skills that range from dance theatre to singer, puppeteer and puppet maker. She has inspired thousands of children and adults with her wonderful, open-ended settings, visual performances and creative ideas which have transformed storytelling in many schools.

FAIRY TALES AND DRAGONS
Key Stage: Reception KS1 and 
Duration: Full day - A day and a half or two days ( up to 3 workshops per day)
Venue: Your school
Take your pupils on a journey of magic, wonder and enchantment exploring fairy tales and dragons!
Fairy Tales are part of our cultural heritage and have traditionally been passed from parent to child through the means of oral storytelling.   These stories often include different cultures and ways of doing things. They teach children about cultural differences in the world outside their own, giving them a curiosity to learn new things and experience new places.

RAINFORESTS - ANIMALS AND HABITATS
YOU CAN ADD TO THE DAY  OUR WONDERFUL SHOW 'THE PRINCESS OF THE RAIN FOREST'

Key Stage: foundation to KS1 and KS2
Duration: Half day or full day at your school
Venue : Your school
Outline: This superb science workshop explores the magical world of the rainforest, focusing on the animals and their habitats, the children will learn about the different rainforest animals and how they are sustained by the habitat of the rainforest.The workshop uses colourful backdrops, props, life size puppets, music, masks and costume to create a magical, colourful and intimate jungle space. Children are taken on a journey through the exotic and fascinating environment of the rainforest, leaving them also full of ideas for writing stories and poems, and for making songs, puppets and sculptures. 

You can also have the workshop plus our beautiful show 'The Princess of The Rain Forest' a memorable journey into the heart of the rainforest, be transported to this magical world and let our Princess show you the colours, the creatures and the sounds that inhabit her world.

 Tanya will bring the rainforest alive by using a variety of puppets and props of the characters.  The use of puppets and drama will immerse the children in the story by providing them with a visual stimulus of the characters and the story setting.  
 
The children will then create 3D story settings and characters, using a range of materials and props. 
 
Children are taken on a journey through the exotic and fascinating environment of the rainforest, leaving them also full of ideas for writing stories and poems, and for making songs, puppets and sculptures.  ​

CARNIVALS AND FESTIVALS 
Key Stage: Foundation KS1 and KS2
Duration: Half day or full day at your school
Venue : Your school
Outline: This superb workshop celebrates cultural diversity and the importance of exploring different cultures and traditions, using a combination of masks, life size puppetry , music and creative salsa dance this workshop explores ways of celebrating around the world. A hands on workshops were the children will have the chance to dress up, create fantastic characters and explore music and movement from carnival.

'Tanya is an inspirational artist and it has been a wonderful experience to work collaboratively with her to develop creativity through projects and celebrations at the children’s centre. Tanya’s skilled story telling through use of visual aids and puppetry has taken children and their families on journeys to different worlds where their creative responses are unique, limitless, spontaneous and above all fun. Tanya is always enthusiastic with boundless energy, providing our children and families with a magical learning experience that they may not otherwise have had.'

WORKSHOPS AT THE ACADEMIA DE BALLET ALLEGRO IN CALI COLOMBIA
​Tanya  has worked for many years in partnership with The Academia de Ballet Allegro in her home town Cali in Colombia.Training and mentoring teachers at the school as well as directing and choreographing for the students of the school.
