'FAIRY TALES AND DRAGONS'

We will deliver 3 workshops during the day at your school.

This creative project will start with the dramatic retelling of ‘The Princess and the Dragons’ fairy tale. Tanya will bringthe story alive by using life size puppets of the characters.The use of puppets and drama will immerse the children in the story by providing them with a visual stimulus of the characters and the story setting. The children will then create 3D story settings and characters, using a range of materials and props. These can then be used by the children as a visual prompt when they tell their own fairy tales.

MAKING DANCING LIFE SIZE PUPPETS
Looking at the use of puppetry with in performance and the use of puppetry as extensions of our bodies.
This workshop involves designing, making and performing with life size dancing puppets created during the course.
The life size puppets will be made by the participants using simple materials such as news papers, masking tape and other recycled materials.
CREATIVE SPANISH WITH PUPPETS
A simple introduction to Spanish conversation through the making and the use of puppetry. An inspiring, hands-on, interactive workshop, design and led by Tanya that uses a variety of elements from making puppets to play, games and physical involvement to enhance and develop the Spanish language.
The workshop is suitable for every one of us ,Tanya will adapt the workshops depending on the age of the participants.
These workshops can culminate in a sharing of the work done.
During the workshops, the participants will make their own puppet character using a variety of materials, exploring the names of the materials that they are using in Spanish to help them expand their Spanish vocabulary, after that the participants will start to develop a conversation in Spanish between the puppet and themselves or between the puppets, creating a variety of scenarios and stories.

Born in Colombia, South America, Tanya Cusan-Espinosa is a performing artist and creative practitioner with over 25 year’s experience of working with children and young people. Her career has encompassed a variety of skills that range from dance and theatre to singer, puppeteer and puppet maker. She has inspired thousands of children and adults with her wonderful, open-ended settings, visual performances and creative ideas which have transformed storytelling in many schools.
