We are all made of stories and they are all magic, one story at a time we are all changing the world. During the last two years of the pandemic, I absorbed everything…and learned to be still again, observing the journeys that my head took me to, while not working with dance and theatre. I wasn’t dancing with my feet but I was certainly dancing with my heart. I spent a lot of time at my edible forest allotment in Harehills, working the land, planting seeds, growing plants and observing nature. I sat under my apple tree in total bliss, making stories in my head and imagining the faces of the trees and the flowers that inhabited the world that I was so involved in. I thought of all the people that surrounded me and wondered what was going on in their heads too. I read tons of books that took me to the places that we couldn’t go to during those years. I translated into English my mother’s stories, which have always been an inspiration to me.
I followed inspiring Permaculture activists and people that through their work are trying to make this world a better place. I also felt the sadness and despair that we all felt so profoundly during this time. So my faces are all of those feelings, colours and characters that inhabited my head and my heart, they represent positive thoughts that would heal the soul, they are about love, nature, healing and whatever you see in them that gives you hope…
